Eight honorees were recognized in categories, including education, health, and youth achievement at the YWCA’s 21st annual Racial Justice Awards Dinner at the Westin Convention Center Hotel. More than 225 guests joined in the celebration to eliminate racial inequality in our region. “We were delighted to present the YWCA Racial Justice Award this year to eight individuals in recognition of their efforts to promote equality, freedom, and justice,” says YWCA CEO Magdeline E. Jensen. “The evening was a celebration of their initiative and dedication, and the impact they’ve made on the greater community.” WPXI-TV’s Vince Sims served as Master of Ceremonies, Cecile M. Springer was honorary chair, and Sarah B. Campbell was also awarded for her contributions.
