NEW + IMPROVED

Brides-to-be in Western Pennsylvania have been asking for it, and now, The Exquisite Bride’s Gibsonia location has expanded to more than three times its original size with the addition of 4,000 square feet. You’ll find the boutique in the same location, but from the layout to the dresses, the entire store is fresh and new. New designers and lines include Victor Harper from Kenneth Pool, UK designer Ellis Bridal, Simone Carvalli, and high-end couture from Yumi Katsura. With the additional space, they’ve added bridal suites and very special, new web capabilities for sharing the dress-shopping experience with far away loved ones. At three times the size, we expect three times as many dress success moments. — Lauren Schmeer

EDITOR’S TIP

Embrace social media at your celebration! Ask guests (either in the ceremony program or with cards at the tables) to hashtag your wedding on their Instagram and/or Twitter posts during the event, i.e. #JonesSmithWedding. The next day, you’ll already have a collection of photos, tweets, and possibly videos to peruse and reminisce over. #Loveit!

SOMETHING BORROWED

Lucy McClure is the Pittsburgh artist behind bel monili, a jewelry line made from repurposed vintage pieces. McClure discovered her talent for jewelry making two years ago, and her handcrafted necklaces, earrings, and bracelets are now sought after for daywear and bridal affairs alike. She is on the “eternal hunt” for the vintage borrowings that make each of her pieces one-of-a-kind, including vintage lace, buttons, and flowers. She also offers custom bridal work to achieve the right shade and style jewelry for each gown. A feminine bridal sash in soft pink with crystal, lace, and floral embellishments is one romantically dreamy creation. Visit the bel monili shop on Etsy, find her pieces at several local boutiques — including Boutique 208 and Wildcard in Lawrenceville — and follow the bel monili blog and social media outlets for some vintage inspiration. — L.S.
