We’ve always believed the right handbag can change your life. At the Susan van der Linde Trunk Show, dozens of handbags helped change the lives of many Pittsburgh-area women. More than 50 guests headed to Larrimor’s for a three-day trunk show, featuring couture hats, shoes, and handbags from the famous New York designer. Thirty percent of all proceeds went to United Way of Allegheny County’s United for Women initiative. “When women come together, united, significant things always happen,” says Laura Ellsworth, chair of the United Way of Allegheny County Women’s Leadership Council (WLC). “WLC has a long tradition of helping women, but recognized we could do more to help those who are newly struggling and one step away from crisis. That’s the focus of United for Women.”
