Mutual friends of Shelley Magusiak and Sam Lanzino schemed to set them up at their dog’s first birthday party — and it was puppy love at first sight! Two years later, Shelley and Sam planned a weekend getaway to Florida with Sam’s sister, Jen, and brother-in-law, Joe. Because of work travels, Sam flew separately from the group. “Little did I know that Joe (the soon-to-be best man) was in charge of picking up the ring and having it right next to me on the flight,” Shelley says. It all became clear when Sam presented the ring with a sweet proposal! The couple planned to celebrate their love in a cooler setting than their beachy engagement, opting for a fall wedding with a Saint Peter Parish ceremony and Sewickley Heights Golf Club reception. “We both wanted to have the traditional Pittsburgh wedding day — from the Catholic Mass to the infamous cookie table, but with an emphasis on my personal favorite season: fall,” Shelley says. One of her favorite memories from the day was kneeling at the altar with Sam. “He looked at me and said, ‘You are gorgeous,’ and grabbed my hand. In that moment, just looking at him, I fell in love all over again.”

When thinking about her Cristiano Lucci gown, Shelley can’t help but smile. The lace detail, fit-and-flare style, and just enough bling were exactly what she wanted.
