More than 1,000 attendees convened in the SouthSide Works for the seventh annual Savor Pittsburgh, a two-day event featuring a collection of Pittsburgh’s finest chefs and bartenders. Guests enjoyed cuisine from more than 20 restaurants, danced to the sounds of No Bad JuJu, and bid on silent auction items to benefit Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation. The judges voted the Smoked Pig Wings from Meat and Potatoes as “Dish of the Year,” Savoy’s St. Louis Ribs were voted Best Happy Hour Food by the people, and during The Great Happy Hour Competition, Verde Mexican Kitchen and Cantina took home People’s Choice for Best Happy Hour Drink — The Mariposa Margarita. Savor Pittsburgh 2012 “brought out some of the most amazing chefs in the city. Guests were absolutely raving about the delicious samples they were enjoying. Without the generosity of the restaurants and bars, this event simply isn’t possible. The best part is knowing that the biggest winner was our charity benefactor, Magee-Womens Research Institute & Foundation,” said Event Coordinator, Christina Dickerson. —Andrea Bosco
