Jessie Godina and Dan O’Bruba’s love story began when she filled in as his replacement at Orthofix. Her boss, who had kept in touch with Dan after he left the company, thought it would be helpful for the two to meet so Jessie could pick his brain about the position. Three years later, the only question Dan had was, “Will you marry me?” He proposed during a candlelit dinner on the sand in Jamaica and hired a photographer to capture the unforgettable occasion. The photo-worthy moments continued as the pair hosted a “contemporary chic” celebration before 250-plus guests. “We selected the Rivers Casino for our reception because it’s truly a hidden gem,” Jessie says. “Dan and I love Vegas, and our families enjoy trips to the casino. Having our wedding there really set ours apart from others.” Inspired by her Lazaro gown, Jessie incorporated a delicate palette of petal pink, blush, and gold. The band played as loved ones sipped Moscow Mules (in traditional copper mugs purchased by the casino just for the occasion!) and made their way to their seats, which were adorned with bottles of Cristal and Veuve Clicquot, and gambling vouchers. Following the four-course dinner, which included “to-die-for” short rib ravioli, guests enjoyed an abundant cookie table, assorted candies, and casino games.“As the sun set and the city lights began to twinkle, the uplighting transformed the mood of the evening,” Jessie says. “The ballroom provided a magnificent backdrop of the city and the ambiance was energizing.”

“Walking down the aisle of St. Mary of the Mount Church and seeing the large turnout of friends and family, and Dan waiting on the altar smiling, was like a dream that I didn’t want to wake up from,” Jessie recalls. “Father Walt made it lovely with laughter and heartfelt sentiments. Dan felt it was perfect, too, and exactly what he envisioned.”
