Ballet has been having a major, mainstream moment — and Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre is no stranger to the surge of success. The company and its multi-talented staff transformed the Westin’s Grand Ballroom into a bona fide cabaret, paying tribute to Moulin Rouge — The Ballet, for a perfectly Parisian evening. In grandiose style, the black-tie ball raised $450,000 to benefit PBT’s main stage productions and youth educational initiatives. On the menu was a decadent seven-course French meal, which closed with a lavish cheese course, pastries, and port wine. Guests, sponsors, and patrons enjoyed a captivating company performance, live and silent auctions, and entertainment by Gary Racan & the studio-e band. “This year’s Pointe in Time gala was a memorable celebration of our season, dancers, and supporters,” says PBT Executive Director Harris Ferris. “It was a truly elegant event, and provided the perfect setting for our company dancers and guests to share the dance floor and the evening.”
