A theater camp brought Eileen French and Patrick Jordan together 20-plus years before Patrick popped the question (with the couple’s dog, Cosmo) while snug at home. The cozy vibes continued at the Pittsburgh Opera, where 400 guests delighted in a seasonal-inspired celebration on a winter’s eve. Following the ceremony, officiated by Braddock Mayor John Fetterman, loved ones indulged in a comforting spread of sushi, organic chicken and dumplings, and braised beef brisket. Using a mix of metallics, like bronze and pewter, natural wood, and modern accents of glass and metal, “uber-mod” arrangements of birch branches, and florals in dark, dusty hues and contrasting whites embellished the space. With entertainment aplenty, a highlight of the evening was when Joe Grushecky performed the first-dance song, “Save the Last Dance for Me.” The bride’s father, David French, surprised the couple with a performance of a traditional Russian song by family friend Ilarion Suga. When asked her best advice for brides, Eileen says, “Hire the right people and let them do their job. And, definitely have a planner or coordinator for at least the day-of so you can truly enjoy yourself!”
