You should date my brother!” exclaimed Courtney Dempsey, shortly after she met Jamie Edmonds at a mutual friends’ house. And shortly after Jamie met Ryan Dempsey, she realized they were a perfect match. Although the couple lived in Detroit while they were engaged, they came to Pittsburgh for the nuptials. “I knew forever that my wedding would be a reflection of me and my love for my husband, but also my love for my hometown,” says Jamie. “My mom, Harriet, and I did most of the planning ourselves. Since I was in Detroit, she was my eyes and ears in the Burgh.”  In order to show her mostly out-of-town guests the best of Pittsburgh, Jamie picked her favorite locations and restaurants for them to explore. Even her in-laws, Mike and Susan Dempsey, created specialty Terrible Towels and Pittsburgh-themed welcome boxes for the guests! Jamie wore a satin, off-the-shoulder gown for the black-tie wedding, carrying a billowing bouquet of white florals as she made her way down the aisle of St. Benedict the Moor Parish. “Walking down the aisle with my Dad and seeing Ryan at the altar was a moment I will never forget.”
