When Matt Crum decided to move from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh, his sister-in-law asked a friend in the area if she knew any potential dates for him. The friend set him up with Ashlee Noca, and the two instantly connected. Over three years later, the matchmakers’ children served as the ring bearers and flower girl in Ashlee and Matt’s wedding! The bride walked down the aisle of St. Paul Cathedral while her mother’s cousin played the trumpet. The lace detailing of Ashlee’s gorgeous blush gown caught everyone’s eyes as she tried to hold back the tears filling her own. Keeping the rest of the day just as light and elegant as the dress, the couple incorporated soft, romantic lighting into the Omni William Penn Hotel’s ballroom for the reception. The curtains were closed over the grand windows, allowing the uplighting from the wall sconces and candles on the balcony to cast a warm glow. Dozens of votives and floating candles covered the dinner tables as well, alongside billowing arrangements of pink and ivory blooms. While guests made their way into the space after cocktail hour in the Urban Room, Gary Racan and The Studio-E Band got the dance party started. Sets continued in between each course of the meal, maintaining a fun flow throughout the celebration. “Every single vendor was amazing,” Ashlee raves. “Everyone went above and beyond, and everything came together even better than we imagined.”

“I didn’t want cake served to every place setting because it would go to waste,” Ashlee explains. Instead, slices were available at the sweets table, alongside everything from her aunt’s thumbprint cookies to mini milkshakes!

Ashlee and Matt wanted to really soak in every moment, even taking 20 minutes to themselves on the balcony before their grand entrance. “Of course the night went fast,” Ashlee says. “But for what it was worth, I feel like I took it all in.”
