While they’ve known each other since childhood, Hilary Ford and Stefen Wisniewski did not begin dating until last summer. “We grew up within a few miles of one another, played sports with one another’s siblings, attended the same church, and even vacationed with each other’s families,” says Hilary. It took the couple 20 years to realize how compatible they truly were. “Within weeks, we knew that we found the person that God designed to be our other half.” Stefen, a guard and center for the Philadelphia Eagles, proposed to Hilary at sunset alongside a lake near their alma mater, Penn State University. “While the proposal wasn’t exactly a surprise, as we had already discussed marriage, Stefen did surprise me by having all of our family and friends there to celebrate with us following the proposal,” Hilary says. Their loved ones gathered for a ceremony at First Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh, officiated by Stefen’s father, who is a pastor. After the ceremony, the newlyweds hosted a reception at Omni William Penn Hotel. “We wanted a simple, yet formal, black-tie wedding,” Hilary says. “We kept a black-and-white color scheme, which complemented the rich red and gold hues of the Omni’s grand ballroom perfectly.”

“If you’re planning a wedding with a very short time frame like ours, it’s important to make decisions quickly and be flexible and open to creative alternatives,” advises Hilary.

Hilary found the dress of her dreams — a long-sleeved, lace, fitted Pronovias gown — after only the second try!

Guests enjoyed a white almond cake with raspberry filling from Bethel Bakery.

“Taking football-themed pictures with our bridal party and dancing the night away with family and friends are moments we’ll never forget from our special day.”
