Each year, the Omni William Penn Hotel throws an extraordinary holiday party by embracing the spirit of the season and taking the opportunity to give back to the community. The beneficiary of this year’s event was Project Bundle Up, and more than $1,500 was raised for the organization — but the giving doesn’t stop there. Earlier this year, a contest was held, giving one lucky fifth grade art class the chance to design the cover for the hotel’s holiday cars. This year, the winner was Lurena Stewart from Buffalo Elementary School. She received an invitation to the party, two framed, matted copies of her drawing, and a $100 check from the Omni William Penn, awarded to her in a surprise presentation by Pittsburgh Steelers Brett Keisel and Heath Miller! The evening, held on Duquesne Light’s Light Up Night, also featured the ceremonial lighting of the Omni’s Christmas tree.
