CHANEL launches a new modern, lighthearted variation on the iconic No. 5 fragrance
Since the creation of the classic CHANEL No. 5, a landmark moment in fragrance, perfumers have been reinterpreting the scent to capture the essence of their era in a simple, yet exquisite, glass bottle. Fast forward to 2016, and we have the newest, and freshest, variation: CHANEL No. 5 L’EAU. The fragrance, which will be available in limited quantities online and widely available in September, is the perfect way to start cooling off after a sizzling summer. No. 5 L’EAU introduces us to bright citrus and soft floral notes — lemon, mandarin, and orange dance on the skin, while the classic jasmine and ylang ylang meld with romantic rose, reminders of the summer sun. Cedar, vetiver, and musk notes then ground the fragrance with woodsy, earthy notes. The result? A sublime olfactory experience housed in the iconic glass bottle. Olivier Polge, perfumer and creator of CHANEL No. 5 L’EAU, says the fragrance is “of the here, now and always,” a comment on the enduring power of the simple yet unforgettable. Like the original, No. 5 L’EAU possesses all the makings of becoming a signature scent worthy of the modern, elegant woman.
