As coworkers, Misty Speer and William York discovered that they had much more in common than just their jobs. Even after their professional paths diverged, their relationship continued to strengthen. It was on the train trestle near the entrance of Southpointe — where “we’ve walked together like, a million times,” says Misty — that William proposed. After their wedding ceremony at Trinity United Methodist Church in Peters Township, the newlyweds made certain to return to those meaningful tracks to take wedding portraits. At the start of the big day, Misty and her bridal party primped at Salon & Spa on the Green, of which Misty is the owner. They arrived to the church in a Cadillac Escalade limousine, large enough to accommodate their 28-person bridal party. The bride borrowed a slew of sparkling accessories, amounting to more than seven carats of diamonds, from Monti Jewelers. Their reception in the ballroom of the Holiday Inn Meadowlands was swathed in shades of burnt orange and poppy pink, the decorating done by Malone’s Flower Shop. Krency’s Bakery created a three-tier vanilla cake, blooming with pink roses between the layers, along with an elaborate dessert bar. Bottles of Champagne were nestled in an elaborate ice sculpture (one of Misty’s favorite details), and their 200 guests were gifted with bottles of Mario Collina Sangiovese wine.
