This match was made in McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant, where Michelle Straka and Ricky Kirsop were both employees. It became clear once they began dating — each had landed the perfect catch. Two years later, Ricky arranged for photographers to be on the sands of Myrtle Beach, S.C., where the couple was vacationing. The cameras were there to capture his marriage proposal, which took place with the sun shining, waves crashing, and her family watching. On a sunny afternoon back in their hometown, the couple exchanged vows at a ceremony at LeMont in front of 30 close friends and family, which included Michelle’s son and daughter. “To see the look and the happiness on their faces was really important to both of us,” she says. Michelle and Ricky exchanged vows with the beloved view of Pittsburgh from Mt. Washington as the backdrop. The bride says that the intimate ceremony was most special to her. Her dress, from David’s Bridal, was a strapless satin gown in ivory with champagne accents and pearl beading on the bodice and hemline. Michael Jacobs of Blooms Florist accented the room, which was swathed in shades of ivory and champagne, with arrangements of eggplant calla lilies, burgundy hydrangeas, and ivory lilies. LeMont cooked up an elegant lunch, and Oakmont Bakery whipped up a sweet cake. The couple is planning on honeymooning in the Caribbean or Hawaii.
