“Pittsburgh’s Third Renaissance is leaving a footprint on more areas than just Downtown. In the Hill District, the new $300 million CONSOL Energy Center is not only the new home to the Pittsburgh Penguins, but helping the city attract large scale events, like the NCAA Final Four tournament. These events bring visitors into our city who spend millions of dollars at our hotels, restaurants, and shops.”

“With the demolition of the Civic Arena near completion, the Penguins and local stakeholders will soon get to work on transforming 28 acres of mostly parking lots into new destination shops, retail, and residences. The nearly $400 million redevelopment project has the potential of creating 3,000 jobs.”

“The Hill District’s future is bright. The neighborhood is safer, cleaner, and its street grid will soon be reconnected with Downtown in order to create more jobs and development.”
