Ashley Cerminara & Mark Meucci
A 10-year friendship blossomed into sudden romance for Ashley Cerminara and Mark Meucci. Mark’s best friend was Ashley’s brother, Freddie, and the future couple attended Peters Township High School together, where they were friends long before they began dating. But once they clicked — one day, “It just kind of happened,” says Ashley — it was a short trip to the altar. “We told everyone we were a couple in July, and were engaged by December,” she says. The proposal took place on the night of Christmas Eve, when Mark escorted Ashley up to Mt. Washington. As they stood on one of the overlooks in the pouring rain, he dropped to one knee. “I loved it! Everyone who was watching started clapping,” she says.
Church of the Resurrection in Brookline was scene to some of the most important days in Ashley Cerminara’s life — her baptism, her first communion, and her wedding day. “Being in the same church and walking down the aisle with my dad, that was my favorite [moment],” she says. With her five bridesmaids in bright red dresses from Allison’s Bridal, and Mark’s groomsmen clad in all black, Ashley beamed in her wedding dress from Allison’s Bridal and faux fur shrug from Sorelle Bridal Salon. The bouquets by Pete Donati & Sons gathered “every flower ever” into stunning, multi-colored arrangements.
At LeMont, the couple, along with 180 friends and family, were treated to vibrant views of the city and the sights of a University of Pittsburgh Panthers football game at Heinz Field. “The service at LeMont was outstanding,” says the bride. The guests enjoyed music throughout the entire evening: The Faiella Strolling Mandolins played during cocktail hour and then, City Heat Band provided dinner and dancing entertainment. “Without a doubt, our band was amazing,” she says. One of the deciding factors when it came time to book the band was whether or not it could play the couple’s first dance song, “All I Ask of You” from Phantom of the Opera. “We saw the performance on a trip to Las Vegas and loved it,” says the bride. But topping her list of favorites memories from the day was the weather. “It was November and 75 degrees. I bought my [bridal party] faux fur jackets thinking it would be freezing, and they didn’t even have to wear them.” The couple jetted off to enjoy more warm weather on a honeymoon to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. They currently reside in Peters Township.
