——— Three sevens on a slot machine usually indicates a big win. For Jessica Fabrizi and Fady Sidhom, three sevens on the calendar (as in July 7, 2007) meant the day they’d both hit the relationship jackpot. A mutual friend introduced them on that lucky date, sparking a three-year courtship. Then came the proposal, which was “kind of awesome,” Jessica says with a laugh. While waiting for friends to join them for dinner, Fady suggested he and Jessica pass the time at a lookout point on Mt. Washington. But since an earlier storm created a muggy atmosphere, Jessica did not want to get out of the car. “I had straightened my hair, and it’s naturally curly,” Jessica explains. “I didn’t want my hair to get all frizzy.” (We totally understand.) Luckily, the weather began to clear, and Fady coaxed her out just in time. As they looked out over the city and took pictures for another sightseeing family, a plane flew by, pulling a banner that read, “Marry me, Jess.”
After two years of planning, a traditional ceremony was held at the St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church in Ambridge, followed by a regal reception at The Pennsylvanian. Jessica looked stunning in a Reem Acra, A-line dress with a fitted bodice, English netting skirt, and satin belt. The bride brought the bling with a crystal bracelet and Alexis Bittar earrings from Nordstrom. To complete the soft, elegant atmosphere, the couple worked from a blush, cream, and white color palette. Thanks to great vendors and wedding planner Ansley Esterline of Bliss Events, the couple and all 250 guests enjoyed a flawless evening. “Everything was executed perfectly,” Jessica says. “It was great having all of our closest friends and family there to support us and celebrate.”
THE DRESS | “I actually went to seven or eight states before I found my dress,” Jessica says. Her perfect fit was waiting in Chicago.
THE FOOD | Opening Night Catering whipped up the dinner and six-tier cake, but Jessica’s family baked all of the delicious cookies.
THE RECEPTION | “The architecture in the Rotunda at The Pennsylvanian is so beautiful,” Jessica says. “To have the cocktail hour there on such a gorgeous day was one of the nicest features.” Inside, the space was in full bloom with peonies, ranunculus, garden roses, and hydrangeas from Mocha Rose Floral Designs. ADS Lighting provided the dramatic purple uplighting, adding a splash of color to the reception. Moss accents brought a natural touch to the couple’s vision for a romantic, garden-like wedding.
THE CEREMONY | Jessica and Fady participated in a Crowning ceremony, a tradition for Orthodox weddings.
