Although they ended things in middle school when “they became too busy with sports,” Lynn Buffoni and Fino Caliguire tried dating again in 11th grade. This time, the sweethearts fell seriously in love and went on to date for seven years. Looking to celebrate with a day that fit their fun, unique personalities, the couple made plans for an elegant, Italian-inspired wedding. The day began with a traditional ceremony at Saint Mary of the Mount Parish, where Lynn walked down the aisle, arm-in-arm with her mother, in a champagne, mermaid-style gown. “I wanted a dress that made me feel like I could really celebrate and have fun at my reception, while still looking like a wedding dress for our ceremony,” she says. “It really was the best of both worlds.” Bright, lemon-colored bouquets popped against the navy blue bridesmaids’ dresses at the ceremony, while the actual fruit was worked into the centerpieces and table numbers at the Jay Verno Studios reception. Everyone even toasted with homemade limoncello, instead of Champagne, after the maid of honor and best man gave their speeches. Lynn and Fino got things started on the dance floor, sharing a sweet moment as Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight” played. Then their guests — who were fueled by the coffee and espresso bar provided by La Prima Espresso Company — kept the dance party rocking the rest of the evening.

“In our bridal party alone, we had friends from Texas, Florida, New York, Massachusetts, and Ohio,” Fino says. “Seeing everyone we care about having so much fun really made the day so much better.”

The lovebirds cut into a two-tiered Burnt Almond Torte from Prantl’s Bakery.

Lynn and Fino’s lemon motif carried through the reception from the welcome sign to the favors of homemade bonbonnieres in Limoncello glasses purchased from Italy.
