For a simple, intimate wedding, Janine Palmer and Judge Jack McVay, Jr. jetted off to their condo in Palm Beach, Fla. “We decided to do the beach route to keep it small,” Janine says. Twenty-five guests — including their children, Katie, Leo, and Rocco — enjoyed the moment as Janine and her father walked down the sand aisle to Jack, her love of six years. They got hitched without a hitch, but Janine says planning a wedding 1,500 miles away wasn’t as easy and breezy as their June wedding day was. “It certainly has its challenges,” she explains. “There is a lot of online research and planning by telephone, but I was extremely lucky to find our caterer and photographer. Ask the right questions and find someone who knows what they’re doing in the area, and life will be much easier.”

With a tea-length Lilly Pulitzer dress, Janine embodied the effortless vibe of the day. “I just wanted something simple and light, and [Pulitzer] is Palm Beach fashion,” the bride says.

Brad Paisley’s “Beat This Summer” played as the carefree couple shared their first dance as husband and wife. “Summer is our time to relax and go to baseball games,” Janine says. “We always say to each other, ‘Nothing beats this summer.’”

Struggling to find a bakery to whip up the perfect cake, the couple hit a home run with a sports-themed, child’s birthday cake. Janine says, “We’re huge baseball fans and coached my boys for years. It all came together.” The couple even attended the Pirates-Marlins game as part of their wedding weekend.
