Glen and Diane Meakem opened the doors of their home for the Ninth Annual Imani Gala to benefit the Imani Christian Academy. Bob Sendall of All In Good Taste Productions created a dinner for the 414 guests at the event, which raised $571,000 for the school and scholarships. Guests placed their bids on a variety of prizes in a silent auction, which featured a vacation to the Dominican Republic and dinner for 10 at the winner’s home, catered by Chef Sam DiBattista of Vivo’s Restaurant. The evening began with a social hour before dinner, followed by students speaking about the experiences at Imani that have changed their lives. Imani students were involved throughout the event, meeting and greeting guests and escorting them about the house. WTAE-TV’s Andrew Stockey served as the master of ceremonies for the evening.
