WHIRL Magazine Pittsburgh and CBS Radio Introduce Get Up & Dance!

Beginning Monday, February 2 — and every weekday throughout February — WHIRL and CBS Radio are asking members of the Pittsburgh community to “Get UP & Dance!” at 3 p.m. each day, while dedicating a song of choice to a favorite local charity or nonprofit organization.

Sponsored by Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC and Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC, the inaugural lifestyle event is driven by Pittsburgh’s impressive commitment to healthy living. As the midpoint in an average 8 a.m.-10 p.m. day, 3 p.m. is typically the point in which we begin to falter, both mentally and physically. To combat this, Get UP & Dance! strives to energize the community with movement, laughter, and the intention of drawing awareness to the city’s benevolent local organizations.

want to support your favorite local charity? here’s how:

1. GET UP at 3 p.m. on any given weekday in February, and turn on your favorite song.

2. DANCE! But first, tell us who you are dancing for by printing out and completing this dance card.

3. SHARE the video on your social media accounts* using the hashtag #GetUpPGH.

At Yes, You Can Dance! we run dance programs for Individuals with Cognitive Challenges and Older Adults. We are ballroom dancing every Sunday afternoon. How can we get involved with Get Up & Dance during one of our classes on Sunday afternoon? Thanks, Becky Stern, Founder, Yes, You Can Dance!
