French pâtisserie Gaby et Jules has debuted an elegant French wedding collection of confections! The unparalleled pastries are perfect for the most sophisticated Pittsburgh weddings, as they are hand-crafted by Chef David Piquard and his team of chefs in their modern French kitchen on Forbes Avenue. Some of the awe-inspiring creations include chic macaron favors in boxes tied with satin ribbons; a macaron tower, available in 18 different flavors; traditional Croquembouche, which are glistening towers of cream puffs; an array of French cakes; and a cannelé tower, a fitting, rich, but not-too-sweet “groom’s cake.” Says Gaby et Jules Wedding Concierge Julie Raffensperger, “The tower is made up of multiple layers of canelé and nougatine. The canelé consists of egg, sugar, milk, and flour with flavors of rum and vanilla. They are baked in copper molds, so the outside becomes crispy/caramelized while the inside remains soft, almost custard-like. These are commonly served in the Bordeaux region of France, and the towers are perfect for weddings or special events.
