The Senator John Heinz History Center was transformed into downtown Napoli as 290 guests, sporting chic Italian attire, came out for Festa Rustica, a benefit for the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. The brick walls of the History Center’s first floor were adorned with strings of white lights, and café seating set the mood for The Common Plea’s Barsotti family to serve up a traditional family-style buffet. The decadence continued, as guests were serenaded, Lady and the Tramp style, by accordion player Mirella Volpe. The event netted more than $60,000 for the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden, set to open in 2013.
