INTERNSHIPS
Interns must coordinate with an academic advisor to receive school credit. Hours are flexible, but must fall within the following time frame: Monday—Thursday, 10am—3pm.

Primary duties may include designing and laying out magazine pages, creating ads, photo editing and re–touching, creating web-ready graphics, using a CMS to post and edit web content, developing designs and logos for special sections and events, archiving past issues, helping with production, and assisting at photo shoots. Candidates must have working knowledge of the latest versions of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign as well as a familiarity with Mac platforms. We prefer design interns to have basic knowledge of HTML. Candidates should have a strong portfolio. Previous work experience in design is also a plus.

Must be deadline-driven and interested in learning about an industry that is quick to change and tricky to target. Candidates should think strategically, prioritize effectively, finish projects accurately and on time, take initiative, and pay attention to industry-related trends. A typical week may include coordinating traffic of art between clients and sales staff, creating and maintaining media lists, providing support to business manager and events editor, learning how to analyze and define market segmentation trends and translate into sales and event opportunities, learning about cross-promotion and marketing, assisting with the planning and execution of special events, and assisting with the distribution of promotional materials and/or press releases.
Required technical skills include proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access and experience using SPSS or another statistical program. Automobile and current driving license strongly preferred.

Advertising Production Manager

Must be able to fulfill a variety of duties, which may include in-studio or on-location photo shoots and event coverage, photo editing and re-touching, helping with production, and assisting at photo shoots. Candidates must have working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, and a familiarity with Mac platforms. Basic knowledge of studio lighting, manual exposure, and color correcting is preferred.
Candidates should have a strong portfolio, a DLS Camera, memory cards, and the ability to shoot RAW images compatible with Adobe CS3. Previous work experience in photography is encouraged.
* Photography interns may also be required to:
- Style and photograph clothing, accessories, or similar products
- Use his/her own digital SLR camera to shoot RAW images
- Lift heavy equipment
- Assist on evening or weekend events
- Record IDs or attend a second photo shoot
- Retouch and color correct images
- Cut out images
- Resize photos for web use
- Prepare photographs for sale / update text using SmugMug
- Print contact sheets
- Continue in organization of CD Directory Filing System
