A week before graduating from Penn State University, Angela Lavrinc’s friend set her up with Donnie Howard. Sharing an alma mater, Pittsburgh hometown, and passion for teaching, the pair had plenty to talk about over margaritas at Mad Mex and instantly clicked. Three years later, the couple shared a Memorial Day picnic at The Point. As they ate sandwiches and sang along to Lee Brice’s “I Don’t Dance,” Donnie reminisced on the week’s events: an anniversary dinner at Mad Mex, a Pirates game in the same seats as one of their first dates, dinner at Primanti’s where he asked her to be his girlfriend, and lunch at Mulligan’s in Hopewell where he first said “I love you.” “Just as I realized he had really been proposing all week, he was down on one knee,” Angela says. “It was by far the best moment of my life.” Rivaling that moment was the couple’s picture-perfect summer wedding at Destiny Hill Farm. Inspired by the venue’s breathtaking lavender fields, the couple chose an ivory and lavender color scheme. The outdoor ceremony meant the most to Angela and Donnie, who name hearing his personal vows and seeing her walk down the aisle as their favorite memories, respectively. Taking the time to incorporate personal touches throughout the celebration, including the shabby chic cookie table with over 3,000 goodies “made with love by loved ones,” made the day extra special for the couple. “Enjoy the planning with your significant other,” Angela says. “When things get busy and feel stressful, refocus on what is most important: the fact that you are marrying the love of your life.”

Angela’s friend, Kristen MacMillan, created the day-of paper goods to fit the lavender theme and add a personal touch. The bride’s father did all of the calligraphy for the invitation envelopes, too!
