Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Fall Gala 2012

Jamie Harshman, Richard & Scheryl Harshman

The 2012 Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Fall Gala went off with a bang — and a boom of fireworks. More than 460 guests gathered at the Benedum Center to celebrate the venue’s 25th birthday with lit, 16-foot candles. Megan Hilty, a Carnegie Mellon University grad and the star of NBC’s hit show “Smash,” kept the party going. Rich and Scheryl Harshman were co-chairs for the event, which raised more than $575,000. Honoree Alice Jane Jenkins attended, as an endowed scholarship was created in memory of her late husband, Paul Jenkins, a founding trustee and former head of the Benedum Foundation. Also in attendance was Carol Brown, the first president of Pittsburgh Cultural Trust; Kevin McMahon, the current president of Pittsburgh Cultural Trust; Harris Ferris, head of the Pittsburgh Ballet; Van Kaplan, head of Pittsburgh CLO; and Christopher Hahn, head of the Pittsburgh Opera. A slice of cake was enjoyed by everyone! —Rachel Jones
