Set up by her sorority sister and his fraternity brother, Maggie Deiseroth and Andrew Woodward met at a college mixer. “They thought we would be perfect for each other,” Maggie says. “After a dinner date the next night, we realized they were right!” Five years later, Andrew proposed on Nauset Beach on Cape Cod, and the Bostonians started planning a wedding back home in Pittsburgh. A relaxed, bohemian feel for the day flowed organically with a white, taupe, and winter green color scheme and loose florals of the same hues. Maggie and Andrew said their vows at Campbell Memorial Chapel at Chatham University, just as the bride’s maternal grandparents did in 1960 and her parents did in 1988. Her family ties continued at the Circuit Center & Ballroom reception, where her father, Lee Desieroth, owns The Fluted Mushroom Catering Company. In honor of their wintry theme, Jeff Ballina at Premier Foliage filled the ballroom with 82 evergreen trees of different varieties and sizes, along with dozens of birch trees, which were set aglow with lights from LUXE Creative. Candles flickered from the long reception tables, giving an intimate feel that made every guest feel they were part of the family. “Remember that your family and friends are there to celebrate your marriage and future life together, not to criticize your wedding,” Maggie says. “Don’t get hung up on the details, and don’t worry about the things that will go wrong.”
