Before the stroke of midnight, 605 guests gathered at the Omni William Penn Hotel for the 87th Annual Cinderella Ball. This year’s chairs, Catherine Loevner and Diana Rath, made certain the ballroom was elegantly decorated with nearly 10,000 flowers arranged by Bill Chisnell of BCP. As tradition would have it, the 21 debutantes were presented to society, escorted by their father or presenter. The ladies volunteered for a combined total of more than 806 hours and proceeds went to this year’s recipient, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. Scholarship winner Athena Petredis contributed more than 91 hours of volunteer service, Sean Patrick Hannon, a senior at University of Notre Dame, was named Price Charming, and Rose Jamison Egan, a fourth-generation debutante, was named Cinderella. “We are thrilled that Rose is our 2013 Cinderella! All of our girls are magnificent and we cheer for each of them to become Cinderella, but Rose’s family story is the icing on the cake of an absolutely magical ball this year,” says publicity chair Heather Chronis.
