big Burrito Restaurant Group Corporate Chef Bill Fuller is celebrating a big year. For one, Eleven Contemporary Kitchen, and its Executive Chef Derek Stevens, hit a milestone — a decade of delicious food and great service. As an advisor to the culinary program at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Fuller continues to support local nonprofits, including the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, and hone relationships with the region’s best farmers. He took a few minutes to share his top 10 favorite things about Pittsburgh.

1 / Pittsburgh is a shining city in the forest.

I love all the parks, green spaces, and wooded areas within and around the city.

2 / Kayaking on the rivers.

Whether in a rental or your own, exploring sunken barges and bridge abutments is awesome. Fireworks are great in them, too!

3 / The East Liberty Farmers Market on Mondays.

4 / The all-season water fountain at the Point.

It makes planning runs, with a potential water supply, easy every day of the year.

5 / Peaches from McConnells’ Farm.

6 / Mineo’s pizza.

7 / Tailgating in the December freezing drizzle.

8 / The topography is awesome.

Rivers, cliffs, hollows, creeks — the nooks and crannies of our region are awesome for exploring the imagination.

9 / Autumn kicks ass.

10 / Being a Pittsburgher.

We love our region and our heritage. It makes the city a great place to live!
