The Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Parkinson Foundation hosted its first-ever “Bringing Hope to Life” Gala at the Pittsburgh Wyndham Hotel. Paul O’Neill, former chief executive officer of Alcoa and former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, served as chair of the black tie-optional event, which featured keynote speaker Rasheda Ali, daughter of former world heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali, himself a victim of Parkinson’s Disease. WTAE-TV’s on-air personality Ashley Hardaway served as Mistress of Ceremony. The event commenced with cocktails, followed by the program and dinner, and finished with dancing, showcasing music from Jazz Express, with vocalist Beth Frost.
