A little laughter can go a long way, and at the Big Brothers Big Sisters 33rd annual Corporate Roast, a night of laughs helped raise $185,000 for the one-to-one mentoring program. Morgan K. O’Brien, chief executive officer of Peoples Natural Gas, was the event’s honoree — celebrated through roasts and toasts. Roasters included Mayor Luke Ravenstahl; president of PNC Bank Pittsburgh, Sy Holzer; chairman, president, and CEO of EQT Corporation, Dave Porges; CEO of U.S. Steel, John Surma; and state Rep. Mike Turzai. Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens hosted the 200 guests, and good-natured jokes and smart zingers kept everyone entertained. “Morgan truly inspires community commitment to all those around him, and working with him and the Peoples Natural Gas organization was a true honor,” say Jan Glick, CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Greater Pittsburgh.
